This presentation will review some key employer obligations as of 2020, particularly in the wake of Dynamex and AB-5 as well as the more recent COVID-related guidelines, orders, and legislation. You will also review and explore the standard provisions in any California employment contract, with a particular emphasis on employee vs. independent contractor status; mandatory arbitration; non-compete clauses; and other particularities of California’s ever-evolving landscape.
Bio:
Kristina Sherry is an attorney and member of the Transactional and Compliance practice groups of Nelson Hardiman, LLP, a Los Angeles-based law firm focused exclusively on healthcare and life sciences. She represents a diverse array of healthcare providers including hospitals, physician organizations, long-term and behavioral care providers, and other healthcare-related organizations and startups in transactions and regulatory matters.
